Rescued for Life ~ All Breed Dog Rescue & Rehabilitation
This dog has a horrific story behind it. My girlfriend rescued it from I-70 a few days ago and we are looking for a very loving home for him. He may have been abused by a male by the way he acts around men and he was definitely traumatized …after his experience on the interstate the other day. All that aside, he is very affectionate, smart, and loving. We think he is American Bulldog, which makes him illegal in Denver. Pit Bulls and sub-breeds of them are banned in Denver City and County because of stupid humans. An American Bull Dog is considered a sub-breed of Pit Bulls. If you know of anyone who would open their heart to taking him in and giving him the love he deserves, let me know! He would require some psych rehab and obedience training. Otherwise he is extremely smart and loving! We think he’s about 2 years old. Because he is so increadibly intelligent and young he might make an excellent working dog for the police or military. If my girlfriend and I turn him over to a shelter, we know he will be euthanized. We contacted shelters and bull dog rescue organizations outside of Denver, and everyone claims to be full. This is really heartbreaking.
Would you all be willing to post this on your individual Facebook pages? My friend and I would consider helping out in figuring out how to transport him wherever he goes! We are paying to get his shots and have him neutered and microchipped next week. Please, please help us find a good home for this beautiful, loving dog.
BTW, we named him Trucker because if it hadn’t been for the quick thinking and reaction of a semi truck driver on I-70 Trucker would have been struck and probably killed.
